About R350 Grants?

According to the Department of Social Development, the government has not increased the R350 grant since it’s inception due to “fiscal constraints”.

According to the DSD, the National Treasury had been approached with a proposal to increase the SRD grant. The proposal, however, was not considered favorably because of fiscal constraints.

Sassa Grant Payment Dates For July

Sassa grant beneficiaries should also be aware of when their grants will be paid for the month. The Sassa grant payment schedule for July is as follows:

Older Persons GrantTuesday, 4 July
Disability GrantWednesday, 5 July
Children’s GrantThursday, 6 July

Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grants do not have a fixed payment date, and Sassa says you will receive your grant once you are approved.

Collect July Sassa Grant Payments

Bank Account

The Permanent Grant program offers its beneficiaries the option of receiving their grants directly into their bank accounts. The benefit of this payment method is that beneficiaries can access their funds at any time once Sassa has made the payment.

Retail outlets

Sassa grants are paid to selected retailers across the country. The wide geographic footprint of retail outlets makes it easy for grant recipients to find one near them. The beneficiaries can withdraw their money whenever the retail outlet is open. Boxer stores, Usave stores, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, and Checkers all distribute social grants.

Mobile Cash Pay Points

A mobile cash pay point is also available for grant beneficiaries to collect their money. During grant payment cycles, beneficiaries can only collect their grant payments for a few hours during this payment option.

Sassa announced in May 2023 that it would extend the validity of gold cards until the end of the year. Millions of Sassa gold cards were set to expire in the near future.
