Social grant distributions for March will take place soon. Every month, these grants provide a lifeline to millions of South Africans.
SASSA will start distributing permanent grant payments tomorrow, 2 March 2023.
It was revealed a few weeks ago, during February 2023, that the agency will be paying out during March 2023. The Sassa grants are usually distributed monthly, and beneficiaries can withdraw them at any time.
The Older Persons grant will be distributed first on Thursday, 2 March, followed by the Disability grant on Friday, 3 March 2023. During the following weeks, beneficiaries will receive the remaining grants.
Here Are The SASSA Grant Payment Dates For March 2023

The Sassa Foundation would like to remind grant recipients that they do not have to collect their grants on the exact date that they are paid. After the grant has been paid, the money will remain available until the beneficiary collects it.
There are several ways in which beneficiaries can collect grants at the moment. Money can be collected from ATMs and retail stores, including Shoprite Checkers, U-save, Pick n Pay, and Boxer.
To prevent fraud, beneficiaries must provide their ID and cellphone numbers, and ensure that this is the same cellphone number that they used to register on SASSA’s database.
SASSA can also direct deposit grant money into beneficiaries’ accounts if that is their preferred method of receiving funds.
SASSA encourages recipients of Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grants to provide their preferred payment method when registering for a grant; this would allow them to collect their SRD grant from anywhere by giving their bank of choice as their preferred payment method.
South African Post Office (SAPO) is no longer an outlet for collecting SRD grant payments, so beneficiaries are urged not to collect their grants there.
