The R350 grant was introduced by the South African government as an emergency response to help mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns on the unemployed.
Grant recipients were provided with temporary financial assistance, enabling them to purchase food and other essentials.
How To Apply For SRD Grant
The grant was to be paid to beneficiaries for three months during 2020 but was extended on several occasions and will continue to assist beneficiaries until March 2024.
The R350 grant is available to South African citizens, permanent residents, special permit holders, and refugees. The applicant must be unemployed and between the ages of 18 and 59. The Older Persons Grant or the Child Support Grant may be available if they do not fall within this age bracket.
The R350 grant is based on the amount of money a person has in their bank account. Their applications for the grant will be rejected if they have more than R624 in their bank accounts.
South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) accepts applications from individuals who meet the eligibility criteria for the R350 grant. If you want to apply for the R350 grant for July 2023, you have two options.
